Mumbai: First class pass holders can travel by AC local train by paying difference

Soon first-class pass holders can travel by AC locals by paying the difference in the amount of the monthly AC pass, and even the passengers will not have to buy a separate AC monthly pass.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, this move had come after when some first-class pass holders requested railway officials to allow them to commute through AC local train. Mumbai division of Western Railway is in process of sending a recommendation to its headquarters. The recommendations which allow first-class pass holders to upgrade to the AC train pass by paying the specific difference in amount. After which, the headquarters will forward this recommendation to the railway ministry for final approval.

Mukul Jain, divisional railway manager, Western Railway told Hindustan Times, “We are thinking on similar lines and will be sending a recommendation to allow the first class passengers on AC trains by paying the difference amount on their passes.”
The commuters have also given their feedback to railway officials on-board that the frequency of the AC local train should be increased. But while talking to the leading daily, a WR official has said that “they said the frequency of the train should be increased, however, this is only possible after the second AC train arrives.”
