Westworld: Here's What Jimmi Simpson Wants to See From His Character in Season 2

It's been known that Jimmi Simpson will be back for Season 2 of Westworld in some form or another as his character William, the younger version of the Man in Black (Ed Harris). But confirmation is always nice.

At the Television Critics Association winter press tour panel for Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G., in which Simpson stars, the actor confirmed to a small group of reporters that he will be back in Season 2, but wouldn't say much about the role, obviously. This is Westworld after all, one of the most secretive shows on television.

"I pop in," Simpson said, playing coy about giving away too many details.

Simpson did talk about what he wants to learn about his character, which are presumably only his wishes and not what we'll necessarily see when Westworld returns. "I wish there was exploration between the time when William's heart's broken and we see the result, I'll say that," Simpson said. "I want to know how much it takes, and how hard he tried to not go there. But I don't write the story."

Simpson also briefly spoke about the fan reaction to his episode of Black Mirror "USS Callister," and the chatter about the episode getting its own spin-off series or standalone film. "I've heard little buzzes, but I don't believe anything until I'm working on set," Simpson said. "I'd love it."

Westworld Season 2 will air sometime in 2018.
