Police seek ID of driver in connection to car-pedestrian crash

NORWICH - Norwich police are seeking the public's help in identifying the driver of a vehicle police say may have witnessed or been involved in a crash Friday morning involving a U.S. postal worker.

Police released a photo of the vehicle Tuesday afternoon, which appears to be a red pickup truck with a plow.

According to a statement from the Norwich Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Washington Street and Chelsea Court at 11 a.m. on Friday. The vehicle was traveling southbound towards Washington Square when it hit the pedestrian and fled the scene, police said. The postal worker was facing away from oncoming traffic at the time of the collision and sustained a severe injury to his left leg, police said.
