SAN JOSE — A woman killed in a car crash in the Silver Creek neighborhood on Sunday has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as Barbara Lazaro, 37, of San Jose.
Lazaro was driving a 1998 Toyota northbound on Silver Creek Valley Road at about 6:05 p.m. when she collided with a southbound 2004 Mercedes-Benz turning left into the Bel Aire Luxury Estates, police said. The Toyota rolled over and Lazaro was ejected.
Lazaro was rushed to a hospital, where she died of her injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz stopped at the scene and cooperated with traffic investigators. Police said there was no indication that either driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The death marked San Jose’s second traffic fatality of the year.
