Rise of CM’s son Kartikey developing interest

Rise of Kartikey, son of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in political arena is generating a lot of interest among political circles, particularly, when he attacked Congress parliamentarian Jyotiraditya Scindia.

While congress and BJP are known to launch no-holds barred attack on one another, Madhya Pradesh politics has often witnessed old world courtesies and decency in public life where youngsters avoid taking on their parent's contemporaries. In this context, many wonder if Kartikey criticism of Scindia had Chouhan's blessings.

At present, he is touring Kolaras assembly segment in Shivpuri district, where by-election is scheduled soon.

On Sunday, while addressing the gathering in Kolaras, Kartikey had replied to Congress parliamentarian Jyotiraditya Scindia for his comments on his father (Chouhan).

Since he is under-age, he cannot contest forthcoming Assembly polls, but political circles feel that he is preparing his ground in the politics.

However, in his comparison, former chief minister Digvijay Singh’s son Jaivardhan Singh, who is a member of the State assembly now, is quite humble.

On a few occasions, Kartikey has addressed gatherings in Budhni, his father’s constituency. His first appearance was in Budhni in 2013. Later, few months ago, he had addressed gathering during a family function in his native village Jait.

The public meeting where kartikey remained present is in the controversy, as the organizer and president of Dhakad community Radheshyam Dhakad threatened Scindia of chopping his hands.

He said, “Agar vo (Scindia) Shivraj ji ke khilaf ungli uthayenge, to hum unke hath tod denge. Agar vo CM ke khilaf bolenge, to hum unki zuban kaat lenge (If he points a finger at the CM, we will break his hands and if he speaks against the CM, we will chop off his tongue).”
