A play ‘Tankara Ka Gaana’ was beautifully staged at Madhya Pradesh School of Drama (MPSD) here on Monday. The paly was written and directed by Bansi Kaul and co-written by Rajesh Joshi.
The play was beautifully performed by the artists of Rang Vidushak theatre troupe, Bhopal.
In this play Karengaram is a reigning monster in the kingdom of King Shankar. King Shankar made a castle of sugar and tells his people that it is white sand, but Karengaram discloses king’s lie.
Angry on this, the King expels Karengaram from his kingdom. The king ousts him from the earth, the expelled Karengaram wanders on the planet called Tanka, where he gets to see the weird poor things.
Tanka is called the land of fools, here people do not laugh, not smiling, there is no currency People present their problems acting in front of their king.
He tells his story to the people, in Tanka, he gets a place to hide the head and people make him a juggler.
But one day Kareangram's wife goes to buy material in the market, and according to the currency she had to be beaten up by a whip. With this, she dies.
Then Kareangaram to revenge his wife’s death decides that he will bring happiness and smiles on this palnet through music.
The song written by Bansi Kaul and Rajesh Joshi, is a satirical song on many parts of the society, but its main purpose is to highlight the pressure on the society and the constant loss of people.
