Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani called for a Yuva Hunkar Rally to be held in New Delhi today. While, controversy around the rally intensifies, the organisers said that the rally will take place at the designated time and place.
Delhi Police has also tweeted saying that the permission to hold a rally at Parliament Street was denied to the organisers.
Speaking to India Today over the phone, Mevani reiterated that Chandrashekhar of Bhim Sena is being targeted and said that the struggle will continue.
Sansad Marg is barricaded on both ends- Patel Chowk and CP. And water cannons are on standby.
"Nobody has been given permission. Since there is an NGT order that no protest can be staged at Jantar Mantar, we have asked organisers to hold the protest at alternate sites like Ramlila Maidan", said Ajay Chaudhary, Joint CP of New Delhi on Jignesh Mevani's 'Yuva Hunkar Rally'
