After months of protests, threats and uncertainty over its fate, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s latest, lavish drama will finally hit the screens on January 25, in its new avatar as Padmavat. Unconvinced by the alterations that will see Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati being portrayed as a work of fiction, Karni Sena on Friday stuck to its demand for an unequivocal ban on the controversial film. The Sena members are even threatening to burn down halls showing the movie after its release. This has caused a sense of panic in the minds of multiplex owners. So scared are they that they have decided to project both movies together on the screens; Padman and Padmavati.
The multiplex owners think that by projecting both movies together, they can be sure that the Karni Sena members will not attack the halls as their problem is with Padmavat and not Padman. Also they can charge double price of the ticket from the audience as they would be able to watch two movies at a time. This will be the first time in India that it will happen. The owners are not sure though that whether they should split the screen into two or project both movies into a single large screen. The procedure for the same has been started at various multiplexes. There are some lucrative offers for the audience right from popcorn free with the tickets, tickets home delivered at home etc. Insurance companies are also offering ‘Insurance from Karni Sena’ product for people to feel more secured while watching both movies.
Faking News reporter caught up with Padman production team and they were also ecstatic that their movie is going to become a part of history and people will always remember this innovative projection technique.
