The 41st edition of the BDO World Championships rolls into town on Saturday, as darts fans are treated to another nine days of pure tungsten theatre.
Rob Cross stunned the darting world by becoming the PDC World Champion on Sunday and just six days later, the BDO World Championship takes centre stage.
Defending champion Glen Durrant arrives at Frimley Green in search of a second world title and he is the red-hot favourite to win another Lakeside crown.
Having reached the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts he rightly enters the tournament as first seed but could be pushed all the way by World Masters runner-up Mark McGeeney - who is the number two seed.
McGeeney will have to overcome three-time World Champion Martin Adams, though, who celebrates his 25th year at the Lakeside.
Last Year’s runner-up Danny Noppert returns for another crack at the World title, while former World Champions Scott Mitchell and Scott Waites can never be written off.
Third seed Jamie Hughes and emerging talent Cameron Menzies are also players to watch this year.
Meanwhile, in the women’s draw defending champion Lisa Ashton goes in search of a fourth world title and is the bookies’ favourite to do just that.
World Masters champion Lorraine Winstanley is set to be Ashton’s biggest threat, while number one seed Deta Hedman will hope to finally end her long wait for a world crown.
Is it on TV? Where can I watch it live?
Yes it is on TV.
The BBC ended their 39 year association with the competition two years ago and the coverage has been picked up by two stations.
BT Sport who shared coverage with the BBC over the past two years continue their association with the BDO, while Channel 4 have taken the terrestrial TV baton from the BBC.
Channel 4 will broadcast all of the afternoon sessions, while BT Sport will broadcast all of the evening sessions, with both channels set to broadcast the final together.
