University of Findlay junior Alonzo Turner was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week following his performance at the Tracy Borah Duals in Gunnison, Colorado.
Turner put together a 4-0 record which helped the 16th-ranked Roughnecks finish a perfect 4-0 in dual matches.
The Rougnecks are back on the road next Saturday when they travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin to participate in the Ranger Duals hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.
ONU’s Bullimore named
ADA — Ohio Northern University senior Amy Bullimore was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week in women’s basketball.
The senior averaged a double-double during the week, posting her fourth and fifth consecutive double-double’s as Ohio Northern defeated Otterbein and No. 18-ranked Marietta.
In the contest against Otterbein, Bullimore tallied a season-best 15 rebounds and a game-high 18 points to lead ONU in the victory.
Bullimore followed that performance up with a season-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the No. 14-ranked Polar Bears handed No. 18 Marietta its first loss of the season.
Bullimore also climbed within 44 points of becoming ONU’s all-time leading scorer and also pulled within 52 rebounds of becoming ONU’s all-time leading rebounder.
Ohio Northern returns to action on Wednesday as it welcomes Baldwin Wallace to the ONU Sports Center for a 7:30 p.m. game.
