HUNTSVILLE — Authorities say an Alabama man has been charged in connection with his father's death.

A Madison County Sheriff's Office news release says Eric Jones, 31, was charged with murder.

Sheriff Blake Dorning tells news outlets that a family member contacted investigators Friday and reported that Eric's father, Anthony Jones, 55, had not been seen since Dec. 19.

Eric Jones was pulled over by deputies and taken to jail on unrelated warrants. News outlets did not report whether he has a lawyer.

The father's body was found in Paint Rock River. Authorities have not released details about the cause of death.
