A couple was killed in a road accident at Porikhitpur area under Madukhali upazila in Faridpur on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Khorshid Mondal, 35, of Boudonathpur village under Alomdanga upazila in Chuadanga and his wife Tania Begum, 30.
The accident took place when their motorbike was hit by a truck on the Dhaka-Khulna highway, causing serious injuries to both, Sub-inspector (SI) of Karimpur Highway Police Station, Nijamul Islam said quoting locals.
The duo was rushed to Madukhali Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared them dead.
In another incident, two people were killed and 10 others sustained injuries on the Dhaka-Khulna highway yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Sheikh Sahin, 80 and Mala Begum, 28, reports our local correspondent.
The accident took place when a Khulna-bound bus collided head on with a Dhaka bound truck at Ghonapara area under Gopalganj sadar upazila, police said quoting locals.
The injured were rushed to Gopalganj general hospital for treatment; of them two have been referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
In another incident, a man was killed in a road accident at Bamonhat village in Boda upazila of Panchargarh yesterday, reports our local correspondent.
The deceased was identified as Yunus Ali, 35, of Benghari Bangram village under the same upazila.
He was killed on the Panchagarh-Nayadighi road when a truck hit his cycle leaving him dead on the spot, locals said.
The truck has been seized however the driver managed to flee, they added.
