Sir — Films and politics are two different areas. While film is a profession, politics is a business. However, in recent times, it is seen that film actors are having close proximity to politicians but that does not essentially mean that an actor is a politician unless one has a political career or links directly or indirectly to promote himself/herself. Exceptionally, few film stars are somewhat successful in politics but their numbers are exceptionally low.
The phenomenon of actors entering politics in south India is not new. This time, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth has announced his entry.
