Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane lifts lid on how long he has left at the Bernabeu

Zinedine Zidane is coming under intense scrutiny as Real Madrid struggle in La Liga

Los Blancos dropped points for the eighth time this campaign when they drew 2-2 with Celta Vigo on Sunday.

With the Galacticos now 16 points off La Liga leaders Barcelona, Zidane is just 5/4 to be sacked this season after a dreadful first half of their campaign.

The former France international won the Champions League with Los Blancos during a stellar five years at the Bernabeu.

But he's under no illusions that what he achieved at Real as a player counts for little as their manager.

"Zinedine Zidane isn't a player at Real Madrid anymore. That Zidane no longer exists," he told .

"Now it's down to Zinedine Zidane the coach to carve out a career.

“I know I won't stay [in the job] for 10 years”

"I'm not protected by what I've done as a player at this club.

"I know that one day it [the coach's job] will come to an end at Real Madrid.

"So I make the most of it and I do everything I can to be successful.

"I say to myself, 'if I've got 10 days left here, then I'm going to live those 10 days to the max; if it's six months, I'll live those six months to the max'.

"I don't think beyond that. I know I won't stay [in the job] for 10 years."

Real face Numancia in the second leg of their Copa del Rey clash tomorrow

Zidane's side can take the game relatively easy as they're 3-0 up from the first encounter.
