Regional teachers win Horizon honor

In addition to first-year teachers Courtney Unruh and Mandy Malone, in Hutchinson USD 308's Allen Magnet and Hutchinson Middle School, respectively, other new teachers in the region winning an Horizon Award were:

Lyons USD 405's middle school teacher Katie Crowsey; Great Bend USD 428's Riley Elementary's Tanner Dahlke; Newton USD 373's Slate Creek Elementary's Constance Neale; and Stafford USD 349's middle/high school teacher Jessica Williams. 

The Kansas Department of Education recognizes teachers who have completed their first year of teaching with the award and are considered outstanding.
