Accentuating her pretty peepers further, Gillian adding a pair of thick rimmed black glasses á la Clark Kent to her eye-catching ensemble.

Gillian looked thrilled to gain the prestigious honour, that follows her impressive acting portfolio.

The striking beauty’s role that catapulted her to the dizzying heights of international super stardom was Dana Scully in The X Files.

Gillian reflected on the character that made her famous in an interview this year with Variety.

She said: “The character that Chris Carter created, one didn’t see her often on television at that time.

“So to be a part of that was incredibly empowering for me and extraordinary to be a part of both a character and a series that was so iconic and game-changing.”
