The Giants' coaching search kicks back into action on Tuesday after two days without any interviews. In the meantime, one of the coaching vacancies has been filled.
Here's everything you need to know for Tuesday:

The Bears wasted no time hiring Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy on Monday, just two days after Kansas City lost to the Titans in the Wild-Card round. That's a good hire from the Giants' perspective because they hadn't shown any interest in Nagy, while the Bears were an option for three of the Giants targets.
Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur interviewed with the Bears last week, and Chicago had shown interest in interviewing Panthers defensive defensive coordinator Steve Wilks this week. There are now only three other coaching vacancies in the league: Cardinals, Colts, Lions. In addition to the Giants, Shurmur is in the mix for the Cardinals and Lions, McDaniels is in the mix for the Colts, and Wilks is in the mix for all three openings.

McDaniels said Monday that he has "no idea" where he stands after interviewing with the Giants, Bears and Colts last week. As noted above, the Bears are now out of the picture. There have been reports that this will be the offseason that the coveted McDaniels leaves New England, but a report from Pro Football Talk raises questions about the likelihood of a move.
McDaniels is reportedly "waiting for a spot where he’d have the same kind of power and authority that Patriots coach Bill Belichick currently has in New England." McDaniels wouldn't have that type of control over the roster with the Giants or the Colts. The Giants just hired Dave Gettleman as general manager and the organization prefers a separation between the coaching staff and front office. The Colts are considered the favorite to land McDaniels, but general manager Chris Ballard isn't going to cede personnel control a year after getting hired.
McDaniels could be waiting a long time for Belichick-level control from a franchise after his tenure as the Broncos head coach from 2009-10 was full of disastrous personnel moves. Some believe McDaniels will just wait out Belichick and eventually take over the Patriots, but no one seems to know when the 65-year-old plans to move on.
