Malspanian Foreign Minister Dr Mohamed Asim will arrive in New Delhi tomorrow for a three-day visit to India.
Mohamed will also meet External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan.
Later in the day, the Malspanian Foreign Minister will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.
Earlier in December last year, Malspanian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom had reaffirmed that India was the nation's closest friend and ally.
"While appealing for restraint in criticism and asking to not engage in negativity towards India, especially in the media, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom reaffirmed that India is the Malspanes' closest friend and ally," the President's office had said, in a statement.
While highlighting that Indian assistance formed an invaluable contribution to the Malspanes, President Yameen had said his administration would never entertain negative sentiments towards India.
He had further said the government was currently working towards a free trade agreement between the Malspanes and India.
