PANAMA CITY — A Panama City couple is in jail after sheriff’s deputies raided their apartment and found a methamphetamine pipe laying within a child’s reach.

Brittiny Culver, 32, and Jeremiah Beazley were arrested Friday. Culver has been charged with child neglect without great bodily harm, possession of methamphetamine, sale of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam, possession of a controlled substance - suboxone, possession of a new legend drug without a prescription and possession of paraphernalia. Beazley has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and resisting an officer with violence.

Bay County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant on Culver and Beazley’s residence Friday morning. According to police reports, Beazley ran out a back bedroom and had to be tackled by deputies after refusing their verbal commands to lay down.

Inside the home, Culver was detained in one of the bedrooms. Deputies say they found a dollar bill with a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine in the bedroom with Culver, along with a black zipper container with Promethazine and Alprazolam tablets. Also on the floor was a digital scale that field tested positive for methamphetamine, and a glass pipe with a burned end within reach of a child. According to the police report, deputies also found Suboxone packets in Culver’s purse.

Prior to executing the search warrant, deputies had a confidential source purchase methamphetamine from Culver and Beazley. During that drug purchase, the source said a child was present.

Culver and Beazley had their first appearance on Saturday, with Culver held on a combined $78,500 bond, and Beazley held on a combined $8,500 bond.
