Moyes has made no secret of his desire to sign a new midfielder this month as he looks to steer  away from relegation danger.

Arsenal pair Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin are wanted by Moyes, despite Gunners boss Arsene Wenger today ruling out a departure for the latter.

Sevilla’s Steven Nzonzi, Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho and Stoke’s Joe Allen are also on Moyes’ list, along with Newcastle’s Jonjo Shelvey who has been linked with a £12m move to the London Stadium.

“What about West Ham, a lot of talk about West Ham United so far in this window,” Dorsett said on Sky Sports.

“Of course David Moyes is trying to get his squad in order.

“We heard Arsene Wenger say that Francis Coquelin won’t be going to join David Moyes’ team.

“A central midfield player is top of Moyes’ priority list. We’re told he has a lengthening shortlist of possibles, in fact if I click on ‘ins’ there you can see how many are on that shortlist.

“Joe Allen at Stoke, Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny, Steven Nzonzi at Sevilla, William Carvalho who’s back in Portugal and interestingly Jonjo Shelvey at Newcastle.

“Reports suggest West Ham may be preparing a £12million bid for him, no confirmation of that of yet.

“We’re being told today Newcastle may be prepared to listen to offers for him but only if they can get a replacement in first.”
