A 43-year-old man was allegedly brutally thrashed to death on Sunday night in Outer Delhi’s Ranhola area. The deceased has been identified as Arjun Singh, a resident of Bhaprola Village.

A senior police officer said, “On Sunday night, police received information regarding a body in Ranhola’s Jai Vihar area where a man was stoned due to which he died. As police were not able to identify the body, they sent it to the mortuary house of a Government hospital. Later, the deceased was identified as Arjun, resident of Bhaprola Village and his family members were informed about the incident on Monday morning,”

Meanwhile, the family members of Arjun alleged that when the police called them on Monday morning, they reached the police station where the police claimed the death result of an accident. They also alleged that the cops misbehaved with them. It was only after they asked the police about where Arjun’s body was found that the police changed the section to murder and filed an FIR at the Ranhola police station.     SR

The family members allege that the Investigating Officer (IO) misbehaved with them and used inappropriate words, due to which, they along with villagers, blocked the Najafgarh-Nangloi road and raised slogans against the Ranhola police. Senior police officers reached the spot and assured them that they will file a murder case and will solve it soon. The IO has been removed from the case. However, struggling for a while, police managed to open the road.

Family members allege that Arjun has been murdered by people, who are known to him. Police have sent the body for the post-mortem. They have detained some people and taken up the investigation.
