The “Mudbound” actor Jason Mitchell appears on “Desus & Mero.” And “Take My Nose … Please!” offers a fresh take on plastic surgery.

What’s on TV

DESUS & MERO 11 p.m. on Viceland. The actor Jason Mitchell will be a guest on this freewheeling late-night show. His recent projects include “Mudbound,” “Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams” and “The Chi.” Expect something looser than the traditional interview; this show was one of Viceland’s early forays into late-night (it’s since added more, including “The Untitled Action Bronson Show”) and is an example of the casual structure that the network’s fare tends to offer. “Late night as a structure of programming does not matter,” Mero told The New York Times in 2016. “It shouldn’t feel like ‘Yo, here’s the news.’ It should feel like you’re looking on the internet with your friends. ‘Yo, you saw this video? That’s wild!’”

MAJOR CRIMES 9 p.m. on TNT. A major twist related to the main character (played by Mary McDonnell) of this crime series has had reverberating consequences. Since its 2012 premiere, this spinoff of “The Closer” has followed a fictional unit of the Los Angeles Police Department that investigates, yes, major crimes. This episode will wrap up the series’ sixth and final season.

TAKE MY NOSE … PLEASE! on iTunes and Amazon. As an editor at Allure, the journalist Joan Kron (also a former reporter for New York magazine, The Wall Street Journal and The Times) spent years covering the business and culture of the plastic surgery industry. This documentary, her first, looks at that industry by way of an unexpected source: comedians. Directed by Ms. Kron, the film centers primarily around a conversation between the improv performer Emily Askin and the actress and comedian Jackie Hoffman. Interspersed throughout the film is commentary and stand-up material from other comedians, including Margaret Cho, Phyllis Diller, Lisa Lampanelli, Judy Gold and Joan Rivers. Speaking with The Times about plastic surgery in a 2012 article, Ms. Kron said, “I never want to be seen as an advocate for or against it.” Her film explores its topic with an open — and comedic — mind.

FOOD FORECAST WITH GINGER ZEE on ABCNews.com and ABC streaming platforms. This food-focused digital series from ABC News is hosted by the meteorologist Ginger Zee. In each episode, Ms. Zee explores a different food, speaking to farmers and researchers about the science behind the foods we eat and the ways in which climate and environmental changes might affect them. The second season includes episodes on truffles, olive oil and oranges.

MARVEL’S RUNAWAYS on Hulu. The Times critic Mike Hale had a mixed response to this Hulu show, based on a comic book series of the same name in which a group of teenage superheroes come of age. In this final episode of the first season, the teenagers battle their parents — though not in the traditional way. (Small spoiler: the parents are supervillains.)
