Man with 'no control' over his zipper busted for exposing his genitals at stores

Later, the man called the store to apologize, saying he was sick to his stomach at what he had done.

A 20-year-old Santa Rosa Beach man has been charged with exposure of sexual organs after employees at two stores complained about him walking around with his genitals hanging out the front of his pants.

The incidents happened about two weeks apart.

The manager of a grocery store at WaterColor told Walton County sheriff's deputies that in late November he had confronted the man about wandering through the store apparently exposing himself to female employees.

The manager said he did not report it immediately because after watching hours of store's surveillance video, he wasn't convinced he had the man "dead to rights." He concluded the man was "sick in the head," he told deputies.

He said the suspect blamed the incident on his work pants and never denied showing his genitals, the report said. Later, he called the store to apologize, saying he was sick to his stomach at what he had done.

The second incident took place on Dec. 16 at a surf shop in Seaside, according to the arrest report.

Two female employees, one of whom was a minor, told deputies the man came in and shopped for a while with his genitals intermittently hanging out through his open zipper. The deputy watched the surveillance video and confirmed that something "white or flesh-colored" was hanging out of the man's pants.

Deputies detained the man, who said he didn't know why they were talking to him. He acknowledged that his zipper might have been down, but blamed it on his pants being too small.

The deputy then told the suspect that, man to man, he would know if his zipper was up or down and whether his private parts were hanging out.

The suspect replied that he had no control over his zipper and that he had no idea his genitals were outside of his pants, the report said.
