Since the past few days, we have been coming across reports that Samsung will be launching a smartphone under the On series and that the device will be exclusive to Amazon India.
Now, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime has been listed on the website of Amazon India, marking its quiet launch in the country when the entire tech industry is busy with the CES 2018 tech show in Las Vegas. The listing does shed light on all the details of the smartphone except for its key specifications. Also, there is no mention of the release date and pricing of this smartphone in the country.
While all the prime details remain unknown, an IANS report citing industry sources claims that the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime will be priced around Rs. 15,000 making it compete with several bestselling models in this price range.
Going by the listing on Amazon India, the Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime boasts of a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display and makes use of a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset. The smartphone is said to be launched in two variants based on the RAM and storage space. One variant is said to arrive with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space while the other variant will feature 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. Both the variants support up to 256GB of expandable storage space using a microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy On7 Prime is listed to support Samsung Pay Mini for contactless mobile payment and a physical home button along with capacitive buttons on the sides.
The device is also listed on the Samsung UAE website and it appears to have similar features as seen on the Amazon India listing except for the difference in the front camera. In India, it looks like the Galaxy On7 Prime will be launched with a 13MP selfie camera while the other variant appears to have an 8MP selfie camera.
When it comes to the other specifications, the smartphone is listed to feature an LCD display, dual SIM support, a dedicated microSD card slot, and a 3300mAh battery. The device is expected to come with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G LTE, a micro USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is no clarity on the version of Android that the Galaxy On7 Prime will run but it looks like the smartphone will be launched in Black and Gold color variants.
