Jammu and Kashmir: 2 terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter

One of the two terrorists killed was identified as Mohd Furhan Wani.

At least two suspected terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag today.

Anti-militant operations were on as of last updating this report, with forces suspected that a total of four terrorists were holed up near the encounter site.

"Two militants have been killed so far in an anti-insurgency operation in Larnoo area of Kokernag in Anantnag district," confirmed an Army official.

The encounter broke out early morning today after a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army cordoned off an area in Anantnag's Kokernag forest.

The search-and-cordon operation was launched based on an intelligence tip-off. One of the two terrorists killed was identified as Mohd Furhan Wani.
