SHEFFIELD — Margaret R. Jonas, 91, of Sheffield, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Monday, January 8, 2018 at Liberty Village in Princeton.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. The Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 12 at Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights, MI. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
She was born November 16, 1926 in Pulaski, IL, the daughter of Ollie and Pansy (Ellenwood) McClellan. She married Niles Jonas in 1946 in Muskegon, MI and he preceded her in death in 1987. Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Jack) Reffett and Rhonda Dastrup, both of Sheffield, Ruthann (Michael) Marie of Peoria and Tawnya (Jim) Mommerency of Makinaw, IL, three brothers, Richard (Jean) McClellan of New Grand Chain, IL, Robert (Sharon) McClellan of Goreville, IL and Carlos (Loleen) McClellan of Urbana, IL, her sister, Ruth Shaw of Sandwich, IL, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, Burton, Bud, Polly, Mavis and Susie and a great-great grandson, Ty Sandford.
Margaret was homemaker and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and gardening and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. This obituary may be viewed and private condolences left at www.ruxfuneralhome.com.
