Career @ events and celebration

Today is the last day of this year. All of us are busy in welcoming the New Year with a hope and determination that 2018 shall bring more happiness and achievements in our life.

Well, it’s time to celebrate and let’s discuss about a career option related to celebration. Like other career options ‘event management’ is a new vista in North Eastern region and we could see many events happening in the region.

The events industry now includes events of all sizes from the Olympics down to business breakfast meetings. Many industries, charitable organizations, and interest groups hold events in order to market themselves, build business relationships, raise money, or celebrate achievement.

Increase in trade and commerce and other activities also create many other things. It is always helpful for the entrepreneurs and people who are creative and serious about work.

One of the career options which have been booming in all parts of the country is event management. It is one of the careers where one does not need much investment and yet can earn more.

Event management, the most profound form of advertising and marketing, is a glamorous and thrilling profession. It provides an opportunity for unleashing one’s creative potential to a very high degree. It demands a lot of hard work and effort but at the same time offers enormous scope.

One does not need much formal qualification to be part of these professions. Some of the qualities which are important are skills like good communication skill, self confidence and must be able to manage people and also work in team, etc.

Having good knowledge over language including writing is another advantage. Leadership skills, work under pressure are also needed.

Some of the courses related to event management are :
o Certificate Course in Event Management ,
o Diploma in Event Management (DEM),
o Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management (PGEM),
o Post Graduate Diploma in Event Management and Public Relations, etc.

There are some institutes that offer this kind of courses. People can start event management even without doing any of these courses. Event Management is yet to take momentum in the state but in last few years it has increased.

In near future there will be more demand for people who are associated with event management and youths from the state can take up event management as their career options. It depends upon our youths how they understand various aspects of this and take it up as their profession.

Most important in this regard is the value of time, it means service must be provided on time. People who are lazy have no place in this profession, one need to be fats and connected with technology like internet and others.

Students of Management, Mass Communication or Public relations can also take up this profession. This is a profession which demands high perfection, hard work and a lot of patience.

With the event management industry poised to grow by leaps and bounds, trained candidates have excellent job opportunities related to occasions like New Year celebration.

Let’s hope that this year will be good year for our students and job aspirants. I wish our aspirants would make a good strategy this year and move ahead in life. A good strategy is needed from career perspectives.

Let us not be depressed if we have not got any good job yet. We need to move ahead with our strengths and turn our weakness to strengths and this is possible when we have positive attitude.
