Helen Lucille Wenrich Wood, 94, of Hot Springs Village, died on Dec. 15, 2017.
She was born in 1923 in Chicago, Ill., to William J. Wenrich and Jeanette Reutlinger Wenrich.
After graduation from Senn High School on Chicago’s north side, Helen attended Depauw University in Indiana, graduating with honors.
In 1948, she married Robert L. Wood, and they raised their family in Burlington, Wis. Robert and Helen retired to Hot Springs Village part-time in 1978 and full-time in 2006.
Helen was greatly loved by family and friends. Her sweet and gracious personality, her beautiful smile, and her warm friendship will be dearly missed.
Helen was preceded in death by Robert, her loving husband of 59 years, in 2008, and by her parents and her brother, John C. Wenrich. Helen is survived by her six children: John (Indiana), Jean (California), Louise (Minnesota), William (Florida), Robert (California), and Richard (California); and by numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Good Samaritan Society chapel, 121 Cortez Road, Hot Springs Village, on Jan. 19, 2018, at 2 p.m.
