The newly constructed “Dr AR Mallick Lecture Hall” was inaugurated at the history department of Jahangirnagar University yesterday.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the hall, in presence of the family members of Dr A R Mallick, teachers and students.
Dr Faruk Hasan Mallick, son of Dr AR Mallick, delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony that took place at the new seminar hall.
Recalling his father's memories as an eminent educationist and the first technocrat finance minister of the country, Faruk urged the students to read Dr A R Mallick's books to know more about him.
Dr Mallick was professor at the University of Pennsylvania, USA in the early 60s and the founding vice-chancellor of Chittagong University.
