Zoe lives in London with her husband, rugby player Paul Doran-Jones and their one-year-old daughter, Luna. 

How would you describe your style?

Seasonal. I love the textures of winter – faux fur, cosy knits and leather all layered and mixed up.

In summer I’m more girlie and into floaty and fitted dresses, floral prints.

You can be much flirtier and softer with fashion when the sun shines. 

Which colours and shapes suit you best?

I wear a lot of black, greys and purple in winter then white, cream plus bolder colours and prints in the summer.

My shapes tend to be sleek and tailored in winter but much more relaxed and floaty in the summer.

Plus I love my shorts. 

What is your favourite fashion era?

I adore the romance of the 20s but I love the way we dress now, especially in the city where every fashion trend is embraced. 

Which are your favourite high-street brands?

I’m a high-street girl at heart. It’s so creative now.

Zara is such high quality and cutting edge but I also like River Island and Reiss. 

Have you a favourite designer?

Mary Katrantzou for her astonishing prints, Zoe Jordan for her clean lines and metallics, Erdem for his exquisite feminine silhouettes, Chanel for handbags and Sophia Webster for shoes.

Do you have a style icon? Brigitte Bardot.

Her look from the 60s was so timeless and ageless. But for now Olivia Palermo and Chloë Sevigny – both look amazing on a daily basis.

What is your best beauty secret?

Since having had a baby I swear by Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Concentrate.

It helps make up for the sleepless nights and I use a Retin-A-based moisturiser.

I’m 35, so ageing is a concern. Plus I daily cleanse, tone and moisturise and have regular facials.

Are you a hoarder or do you clear out your wardrobe each season?

My husband can’t understand why I have so many clothes.

I have a bedroom given over to all my clothes and I know like most women I only wear 20 per cent of them.

That said, I always think of my mum, Carol, who was a model in the 60s – she toured Australia with The Monkees – had the most fabulous wardrobe back then and chucked it all away.

We both regret it and I don’t want to make the same mistake.

Are you a vintage fan?

A massive fan.

I have a great collection of hats and gloves but I’m not tall enough to wear vintage dresses.

How many shoes and handbags do you own?

At least 70 pairs of shoes and 50 handbags.

What is your best fashion advice?

Don’t follow trends. You can’t fit a round peg into a square hole, so if a style doesn’t suit you or make you feel good it’s not for you. 

What is your current outfit of choice?

A Zara white shirt and black leather trousers.

I was able to fit into them again after having my baby, Luna, and wear them at every opportunity with black, heeled boots and a cream faux-fur jacket by H&M.

Is there an old favourite you turn to in a wardrobe crisis?

An A-line Mary Katrantzou print-style dress by Clover Canyon, which I bought in Liberty. It’s so flattering.

How much do you spend on clothes each month?

£500 to £1,000.

I need a lot for work.

What is the most expensive item in your wardrobe? And best bargain?

My Chanel cushion bag, which was about £3,000 – it was a gift from Paul after I’d had our baby.

He knew what would make me happy. I’ve wanted one for as long as I can remember.

My best bargain? A pink Reiss coat reduced from £450 to around £175 in the sale.

What is the oldest item in your wardrobe?

An oversized denim jacket with “Neighbours in The New World” on the back.

I had it at 13 and still wear it. It’s great for festivals.

Who made your wedding dress? 

Pronovias.

Paul and I married in Ibiza last July.

Have you a favourite little black dress?

I have two, from Maje and Sandro.

The leather look Maje dress with fringing is really fun to wear.

What is the one item of clothing you couldn’t live without?

My All Saints leather jacket – it’s heavy, with zips.

It just gets better with age.

What is your favourite piece of jewellery?

My engagement ring.

I saw it in a jewellers after some friends suggested I take a look.

They knew Paul was planning to propose (I didn’t) and he wanted to check if I liked it. I saw it, fell in love but thought it too expensive.

Five months later, on Christmas Eve, Paul proposed to me with the ring outside Bath Abbey with a violin playing in the background. 

Have you ever made a fashion faux pas?

Yes, when I went with Anthony Hutton from Big Brother to The Dukes Of Hazzard premiere.

I was 22 with a mahogany spray tan, ringleted hair and wore a dress that looked like grandma’s raggy old curtains.

I looked a complete disaster. 

What item of clothing would you save from a burning house?

A pair of my dad’s pyjamas he used to wear around the house with a jumper on top.

They are tucked in the back of my sock drawer and I love it that they are there.
