In the backdrop of the bundh in Hubballi city on Monday, Dalit organisations burnt tyres at Chennamma Circle in protest.
They were protesting against the atrocities committed on dalits in Koregaon last week in Maharashtra, and the rape and murder of a dalit school girl in Vijayapura last month.
They protested against Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde's 'we have come to power to change the Constitution', remark and demanded his resignation.
A similar protest with tyre-burning and a road block was held at Hosur Circle as well.
