Newcastle transfer news: David Moyes to decide whether he will let Joe Hart sign for Toon

DAVID MOYES will have the final say on whether he will open the door to let Joe Hart sign for Newcastle.

GETTY

Joe Hart is a on a season-long loan with West Ham from Manchester City

Rafa Benitez wanted to sign Hart, 30, on loan last summer but was beaten to him by West Ham.

Hart started the season as first choice goalkeeper under previous Hammers boss Slaven Bilic but his loan spell has turned sour.

The 30-year-old has not featured in the Premier League since losing his place to Adrian at the beginning of last month.

There is no break clause in Hart's season-long loan deal - and Manchester City don't want him back.

But the England keeper knows he needs regular first team football to ensure he doesn't miss out on a place in Gareth Southgate's World Cup.

Hart remains in Southgate's plans but he could slip out of the reckoning with Jack Butland and Jordan Pickford's stock growing.

He has six months remaining on his City contract and Express Sport understands City would not object if another club was prepared to take on his £120,000-a-week wages this season.

It means Moyes would have to sanction the termination of his deal if Hart was to seek a move in order to play regularly ahead of the World Cup.

Hart returned to his home town Shrewsbury and denied his old club with three first-half saves in a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup on Sunday.

During the first half he had to take a baseball cap from a Hammers supporter behind the goal to keep the low sun out of his eyes.

That man is Jack Martin-Kenny, who sent a tweet yesterday which went viral

"Joe hart literally has my hat on ahahahahahha," he wrote and within hours the post had been retweeted more than 4,000 times.

He was then asked what the keeper did after the game and said: "Haha got f*** all from joe hart what a result we got a replay to Shrewsbury."

Another supporter quizzed: "did you get your hat back or did he keep it?" Martin-Kenny replied: "Got the hat back at least."

He told another user: "It's from next, happy to help my team but fair play to @WhufcJamie to throwing it to him."

A fellow Hammer then asked: "Did he give you his shirt/gloves as a thanks?" Martin-Kenny replied: "Nothing at all but a thumbs up."

Although the tweet of the day was posted by @DadJokeMan who, in reference to Hart's Head and Shoulders adverts, wrote: "Should get it back dandruff free !"
