Scotland sub-zero temperatures cause 25 crashes in an hour

(MENAFN) While freezing temperature was dominating Scotland Monday morning, a total of 25 crashes were reported in the period of a single hour.

At Strathallan, Perthshire, the lowest temperature documented overnight was minus 9.8C, as confirmed by the Met Office.

The freezing weather condition has also created disorder on rail services since icicles on the overhead lines have prevented trains to make a stop at Johnstone in Renfrewshire.

The temperature also originated heating or water crisis forcing a number of schools to close.
