BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia today expressed her deep concern over the recent incidents of rape in the country.
A total of 1,251 women and children were raped in the year 2017 alone and of them, 224 were gang-raped while 58 of them were killed, she tweeted today quoting statistics of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad.
“I’m gravely disturbed at such colossal lawlessness and heinous attack on our women’s dignity. This unelected regime uses public money but robs them of their basic rights,” she said in the tweet.
