Coronation Street characters in tears as beauty makes shock exit
CORONATION Street saw a fan-favourite character leave Weatherfield tonight.
The Coronation Street cast was dealt a major blow that Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) had been murdered.
It hit his close friends the hardest, with girlfriend Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) being in tears most of the double bill.
A few of the other characters were upset for other reasons, like struggling with their romantic feelings for each other.
Kate Connor (Faye Brookes) and Rana Nazir (Bhavna Limbachia) have been having a secret affair recently.
It looked like Rana was going to confess to husband Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) what had been going on, but she didn't.

When Kate returned from her night out with Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) they shared a drunken kiss.
Rana found out about it and wasn't too pleased but still couldn't break the news to Zeedan.
In the end, things were too heavy for Kate and she broke the news to her pals that she had to leave.

Zeedan told her: "Whatever you need to do, do it. We're here for Alya, me and Rana, but there's no right way to do this. I'll make sure Alya understands don't worry."
When Kate arrived in the Rovers with a suitcase, Rana was caught off guard and rushed to find out where she was going.
Kate explained: "It's too hard. I love you. It's over, us, okay? It's over. Just take care of Alya."
Sophie joined them outside and said: "You must be really upset about Luke because I am.
