The Odisha Male Multipurpose Health Workers (MMHW) Association has threatened to hold cease-work stir and boycott the MR vaccination programme from January 29 if the State Government fails to fulfil their ten-point charter of demands till January 28..
This was stated by association State president Rabindranath Pradhan in Press meet held here on Friday. The demands include changing designation to health inspector, at least four promotion during service period, `2,800 as grade pay, Government holiday as per other government employees, regularization of job after six years, training to unskilled MMHW, equal salary for equal job and dress allowance of 5,000 per year, etc. About 5, 000 MMHW, including 100 from Kandhmal, will join the protest rally, added Pradhan. Among others, association general secretary Santosh Kumar Maharana and Kandhmal district secretary Prabhat Kumar Satpathy were present.
