New Delhi, January 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Sunday accused the Left Front government in Tripura of “misrule”, saying that the situation in the state has gone from bad to worse and asked the people to vote them to power. The BJP president also spoke about the issues related to pay hike of Tripura state government employees and promised to implement 7th Pay Commission as soon as they come to power in the state.
“State employees are getting 4th Pay Commission. I promise that 7th Pay Commission will be granted after formation of government in Tripura,” Shah said.
“BJP government will implement ‘7th Pay Commission’ recommendations for government employees in Tripura immediately after assuming office,” @BJP4India tweeted after Shah’s speech ended on a positive note.
While addressing a ‘Vijay Sankalp Rally’ and targetting the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Shah said, “In last few months, seven BJP workers have been killed in the state. The vicious cycle of violence will not work as the people of Tripura have woken up and will give a befitting reply to the CPM.”
He further added, “We are not afraid of violence. The moe CPM goes ahead with violence, the more lotus bloom”.
He added that more than seven lakh people, out of the 37 lakh population of Tripura, are registered in the unemployment list.
“The health facilities here are inadequate. This is what was done here in the past 25 years by the ruling state government. But not the countdown has begun. The BJP will form the government here in March. Even if the corrupt goes underground, our party will dig the earth and bring them out,” Shah asserted.
He further said that the Tripura government is not taking any action against the culprits of chit fund because the entire Cabinet of Manik government will be behind the bars.
The Assembly elections in the states will be held in March. Both Nagaland and Tripura have been two of the few states where the BJP has not formed a government. In the current Nagaland assembly, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) hold the majority.
Meanwhile, in Tripura Assembly, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has been enjoying majority, while Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has been at the helm since 1998.
