The Kent County Public Library, 497 S. Red Haven Lane, Dover, schedules all this for January:

— CoderDojo: 6 p.m. Jan. 16. Ages 8-12 can learn skills like website building and app and game building and explore technology in an informal and social environment.  — Toddler dance party: 10 a.m. Jan. 17. Preschoolers can join Meredith from Unbranded Dance for a special story time featuring basic movement and dance instruction.

— Preschool story time: 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan 18 and 25. Preschoolers can join for a special themed story time followed by a related craft.

— Eating Smart, Being Active: 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 and 25 and Feb. 1. The Delaware State University Cooperative Extension Expanded Food & Nutrition Program can help start the new year with tips, recipes and exercise for a more healthful life. — Learn to Play Dulcimer: 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 and 26. Local folk musician Frances Johnson will introduce new students age 16 and older — and those looking to brush up on their skills — to basics of the mountain dulcimer. “Loaner” dulcimers will be available for use during the three-week program.
