On Friday night around 1:10 a.m., Liberty police responded to a reported armed robbery at JJ’s Chevron at the corner of FM 563 and Highway 90, according to a Monday morning press release from the Liberty Police Department.

The initial investigation determined that two subjects, both dressed in black, wearing masks and gloves came into the store. One subject armed with a handgun went behind the counter and demanded money from the employee. The second subject stayed at the door, apparently watching out. Both subjects left the store with the cash they had collected, running towards Tidal Wave Car Wash.

Police found out later that the same subjects went into the JJ’s Chevron at FM 563 and I-10 in Chambers County and robbed it in the same manner. Liberty police are working with both Chambers County and the Dayton Police Department because this robbery is believed to be connected with the robberies in both of their jurisdiction.

Anyone with information about these recent robberies is asked to contact the Liberty Police Department at 936-336-5666.
