Kohl's posts strong holiday sales, raises FY 2017 forecast

(Reuters) - Corp posted a 6.9 percent increase in comparable-store for November and December, helped by strong holiday shopping traffic and higher online sales, leading the operator to raise its full-year profit forecast.

The numbers compare to the 1-3 percent growth in holiday posted by rivals and last week.

shares were up 6.8 percent at $58.05 before the bell on Monday.

The company said it now expects its fiscal 2017 diluted earnings per share to come in between $4.10 and $4.20, versus its previous forecast of $3.72 to $3.92. Analysts on average expect the company to report a profit of $3.64 for the year, according to I/B/E/S.
