Honor to add another quad-setup camera smartphone to its portfolio

Huawei is all set to unveil the company's second quad camera smartphone for photography enthusiasts. The smartphone will join the company's Honor series devices which previously introduced Honor 9i smartphone with two cameras at front and two at the rear side. The upcoming smartphone will be launched in the Indian market later this month.

Huawei says that the next camera centric smartphone is tailor-made for the selfie lovers and will come with dual front cameras. It goes without saying that the handset will take on selfie centric handsets from OPPO and Vivo which are largely selling in sub Rs. 20,000 price segment. We are expecting Huawei to price the handset under Rs. 18,000 in the Indian market.

Huawei has delivered a number of dual-lens camera smartphones in past in mid-range and upper mid-range (Rs. 25k to Rs. 30k) price category. The most recent addition is the AI backed Honor View 10 that is priced at Rs. 29,999 and takes on OnePlus 5T.

Huawei hasn't shared any concrete information related to specifications of the upcoming handset; however we believe it will share a close DNA with the other quad camera handset- Honor 9i. We can expect a taller 18:9 aspect ratio screen, Kirin CPU, sleek metal design and a capable camera hardware with the upcoming Honor handset.

The smartphone can be an Amazon exclusive and might run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei' in-house EMUI 8.0 running over it. With the launch of Honor's upcoming mobile venture, the Indian market will have three quad camera smartphones. One handset comes from the Huawei staple- Honor 9i and the second device was recently launched by Infocus at a price point of Rs. 11,999. Infocus Snap 4 comes with a combination of 13-megapixel primary and 8-megapixel 120 degree wide-angle secondary sensors and also features dual LED flash. At the front, there are two 8-megapixel shooters with beautification mode and a background blur mode.
