FORMER LEEDS and Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk wants to take charge of Nottingham Forest.

Monk, 38, is on the hunt for a quick return to the dugout after being axed by Boro on December 23, according to the Sunday Mirror.
It is claimed he likes the look of the challenge on offer at the City Ground.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has been on the hunt for a new boss after axing Mark Warburton on New Year’s Eve.
It emerged last week that Marinakis has held talks with a number of potential candidates.

A host of proven Championship names including Paul Heckingbottom, Aitor Karanka, Nigel Clough and Monk are reportedly on the shortlist.
Monk is a 33/1 shot with SkyBet for the job while Barnsley chief Heckingbottom is the 4/5 favourite.
Marinakis axed Warburton as a result of their inconsistent form this term.
Forest sit 14th in the Championship but have lost 14 of their 26 league games.

Marinakis believes the team are underperforming and should be challenging for a play-off spot.
Academy chief Gary Brazil has been in caretaker charge since Warburton’s sacking.
He presided over a goalless draw at Leeds United on New Year’s Day before masterminding the famous FA Cup victory against Arsenal.
Brazil has indicated he does not fancy the job on a full-time basis.
