Odissi dance and semi classical vocal performance at Tribal Museum

The Bhopalites enjoyed a delightful Sunday evening with an spontaneous Oddisi dance performance and a semi classical vocal performance at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum. The musical evening was held under the Uttaradhikar series of classical performances.

The event began with semi classical vocal performance by Varsha Daweskar from Bhopal. She began her performance with 'Raga Madhuvanti'. Then she performed song ‘Jiyarah Lubhaye Nain Tihare’ in madhya laya teen taal and then presented Abir Gulal Udhalit Rang in Marathi Abhang.

She wrapped up her performance with Raga Bhairavi. She was accompanied by Jhalakshi Balani, Nishad Barhatay, Akshita Singh, Parinda Dandavite on vocal, Ashesh Upadhyay on Tabla and Jitendra Sharma on Harmonium.

In the second presentation, Pushpati Mishra from Bhubaneswar, a disciple of Padmashri Pankaj Charandas presented the Odissi group dance with her troupe.

She began the performance with Mangalachachan by offering floral to God. Then Pushpita Mishra gave a full dance presentation on the stage by describing the form of Goddess Durga with Rakshasa Vadh. After this there was a dance performance in the four epochs 'Yugey Yuga Param Brahma', describing the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The troupe ended their performance with dance Odhavodhan based on patriotic song of Oddisa. 

The performance was spell binding. From coordination to rhthemic footwork everything of the dancers was spell binding. Moreover, the facial expressions were zestful.

During the presentations, audiences enjoyed every bit of the  performances. The audience encouraged the artists as they gave mesmerising performances one after the other.
