FOSTER, R.I. — One person was killed and three others injured in a three-car crash on Hartford Pike Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police Monday morning were not releasing the identities of any of the four people involved in the crash, which was under investigation.

The crash happened near 220 Hartford Pike at around 2 p.m. Sunday, police said in a release. Police said it appeared that an Acura crossed the centerline of the road, striking the rear quarter of a Toyota Yaris and then colliding head-on with a Chevrolet HHR small station wagon.

The sole passenger in the Chevrolet was the person who died, police said, and the driver also suffered serious serious injury. The Acura driver also sustained what police described at serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota suffered what they called minor injuries.
