(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, Jan. 8 (Petra)--A group of extremist settlers on Monday stormed the courtyards of Al Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al Sharif in occupied Jerusalem.

The General Director of the Islamic Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Affairs, Sheikh Azzam Al-Khatib, told Petra's reporter in Ramallah that 34 Israeli settlers broke into the Muslim's holy shrine from the Bab Al-Magharbeh Gate under heavy protection of Israeli forces and police.

The extremist settlers provocatively toured the Al-Aqsa yards and performed their Talmudic rites, Al-Khatib said.
