“College Football Playoff National Championship (5 p.m. PT, ESPN): The long season all comes down to this: two mighty SEC teams — Georgia and Alabama — do battle for the title in Atlanta, the Bulldogs’ backyard. The Crimson Tide is seeking its fifth national championship in nine years, while the ‘Dogs hope to win their first title since 1980.
“The Bachelor” (8 p.m., ABC): Arie’s search for love gets off to a fast start with one-on-one dates with Becca K. and Krystal. Arie transports Becca K., via a slick motorcycle ride, to an oceanside Malibu mansion, where celebrity fashion designer Rachel Zoe works her magic on Arie’s date. Krystal looks to a possible future with the Bachelor when she visits his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona. But she is concealing a dark secret that might scare Arie away. Also, 15 women travel to a racetrack for a rip-roaring demolition derby.
“David Bowie: The Last Five Years” (8 p.m., HBO): This illuminating documentary delves into the innovative rock star’s late-life creative resurgence. After ending nearly a decade of silence, Bowie produced two groundbreaking albums and a musical before he died.
“Home Town” (9 p.m., HGTV): Home renovation stars Ben and Erin Napier return for their second season and this time there will be one special new addition in Laurel, Mississippi. The first-time parents-to-be, who have inspired millions to love small-town living, will transform more outdated properties into gorgeous family homes.
“The Good Doctor” (10 p.m., ABC): Dr. Marcus Andrews enlists Dr. Neil Melendez on a very sensitive kidney transplant between a pair of twins whose lives intersect in more ways than one. Meanwhile, overwhelmed by Dr. Aaron Glassman’s attempts to have him meet with a therapist and the demands at work, Dr. Shaun Murphy decides to take an impromptu trip with his friend Lea and leave everything behind.
“The Brave” (10 p.m., NBC): Dalton and what remains of his team try to escape with their lives as they process a devastating loss. Meanwhile in D.C., Patricia will stop at nothing to make things right, even if it means putting her career at risk.
