Padmavat (earlier Padmavati) finally has a release date. After much ado over the content of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus passed the CBFC test and got a UA certificate with a few modifications. The film is releasing as Padmavat on Republic Day Weekend on 25 January, 2018. Trade analyst and senior film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted about the same just moments ago and fans are already predicting the future of other two films releasing along Bhansali’s period saga. Padmavat is all set to lock horns with Akshay Kumar’s Padman (releasing on the same day) and Sidharth Malhotra’s Aiyaary (26 January) at the box office.
However, since the genres of all three films are different, none is expected to eat into each other’s business. But being a multi-starrer and much awaited film, releasing in the same period as Padmavat might cost dear to the other two films.
