Take a spin in Aptiv and Lyft's self-driving BMW

[MUSIC] This is CES, it's a haven of technical innovation. If you need a ride across town, you're not just gonna rely on a car with a human driver, are you? Lyft has teamed up with Aptiv, the recently renamed mobility arm of Delphi to offer rides across Las Vegan in a level four self driving BMW And they're getting pretty ambitious too. Whereas last year they were contained to a singular drive loop, a very controlled environment, this one is a little more open. They're going to 20 different destinations across Las Vegas, so anything is possible. The car might not even register with you as a self-driving car at first. I mean most of hardware, the lidar sensors and radar, those are all kind of tucked away behind the bodywork, with only the bare minimum of exposed parts. Bright wheels are a nice touch too. At the minimum, they're guaranteed to garner some extra attention. Now when you're taking a ride around town, there will still be a driver up front. I mean, safety first after all. But my ride was completely autonomous and devoid of any source of large bumps or hiccups. It was just like any other ride through Las Vegas And I didn't even have to tip the robot. [MUSIC]
