Talk will focus on lynchings, systemic racism

Patricia Hilliard Nunn will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Mennonite Church on the topic: "If The Trees Could Talk: Racial Violence & Injustice in Alachua County." Her talk is part of the Dismantling Racism series sponsored by Beltram Peace Center and is free to to the public.

The church is at 1236 NW 18th Ave in Gainesville.

Lynching was a form of terror and social control used by whites against black people. Nunn's talk will address the history of lynching and share examples of systemic racial injustice in Alachua County.
