 Gerald J. Mushro, 83,of

Olney and formerly of

Streator passed away Sunday,

December 31, 2017 at Aurora

St. Luke’s Medical Center in

Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Mass of Christian Burial

will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday

at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. Thursday at the

Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Streator. Full

military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie

G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans

of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

Born October 27, 1934 in Streator he was the son of

Joseph and Lois (Doherty) Mushro. He married Mary

Lou Ondrey on October 29, 1955 at St. Stephen’s

Church, Streator. She preceded

him in death on

September 28, 2013.

He is survived by

daughters, Lori (David)

Gee of Streator, Sandy

(Glenn) Scheffler of Winfield,

Julie (Joe) Grimes of

Sewalls Point, Florida,

Mary Johnson of San Antonio,

Texas, Janice (Rob)

Finerty of Franklin, Wisconsin,

Sally (Mike) Radka

of Greendale, Wisconsin

and a daughter, Kathleen

Sue Mushro who is deceased; 18 grandchildren; 6

great grandchildren; sister in laws, Anne Finlan of

Streator and Evelyn (Dick) McMillion of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;

his daughter; a grandson, Derek Brennan and a great

granddaughter, Lexie Gee.

Born and raised in Streator he attended local grade

schools and Streator High School. He was of the

Catholic faith.

He served in the United States Marine Corps for 2

years.

A machinist by trade Jerry worked for various companies

including Anthony Company, Thatcher Glass

and Motorola prior to founding Mushro Machine and

Tool Company with his wife Mary Lou in 1975. They

worked side by side growing the machine shop until retirement

in 1996. In 1997 Jerry and Mary Lou moved

to Olney after building their retirement home on East

Fork Lake. He was passionate for fishing, hunting and

shooting sporting clay and trap. Winters were spent

RVing and staying in Okeechobee, Florida.

Hospital.
